Timely launch of new 'Union Flag' Evoque
19th September 2014
Land Rover will show a new Range Rover Evoque SW1 special edition at the Paris Motor Show 2014 that celebrates the British Union Flag.
Revealed as Scotland votes to remain part of Great Britain, it’s a timely launch indeed…
The new SW1 Evoque will come in either red, white or blue – or black or grey for those who want a ‘monochrome’ and slightly less patriotic alternative – with white roof and gloss white 20-inch alloys. Union Flag graphics adorn the rear spoiler and white door mirror caps, and there are white ‘tick’ decals for the bodywork.
Uniquely, ‘RANGE ROVER’ on the bonnet is picked out in white.
The cars get ebony leather inside, with a special anodised red finish for the rotary gearshift knob and paddleshifts of nine-speed automatic versions; manual models get a special gearlever insert instead. The head restraints gain Union Flag motif tags, as do the carpet mats, sill plates and vehicle key.
“The Range Rover Evoque is a fresh interpretation of classic Range Rover design cues” said Land Rover Design Director and Chief Creative Officer, Gerry McGovern. “These special editions are a celebration of our Britishness. Evoque is designed and engineered in Britain and we know that resonates with our global consumers.”
The new Union-celebrating Range Rover Evoque SW1 will go on sale mid-October – globally, not just in the UK…
